I understand how others hear that... and it's cool, optimistic! But this is what I get out of it... This World we live in is BIG, filled with beauty and oppertunity, exploration, life! and the "small people" are the selfish, rude, obnoxious, narrow-minded, abusive, and cruel, etc. etc. The small people try to pollute our thinking, stand in the way of our progress and our dreams.. they try to waste our time, and simply take up space with no real purpose at all, except to make the rest of us miserable! (Obsticals), that's the word I'm looking for! I don't know who told you that particular phrase, or exactly what their meaning was behind it,... but I like it! It's thought-provoking isn't it?
