I really don't know of any home remedy that can treat efficiently a case of bad acne. One of the most popular remedies used for ease the swelling are applying toothpaste (not gel) before sleep. Other remedies are strawberry leaves and aloe vera.

There are many products sold for the treatment of acne, many of them without any scientifically-proven effects. However, a combination of treatments can greatly reduce the amount and severity of acne in many cases. Those treatments that are most effective tend to have greater potential for side effects and need a greater degree of monitoring, so a step-wise approach is often taken. It is highly advisable to ask your doctor about the tradeoffs between these treatments for any individual case, especially when considering using any of them in combination. There are a number of treatments that have been proven effective:

Cotton pads soaked in salicylic acid solution can be used to exfoliate the skin[edit]
Exfoliating the skin

This can be done either mechanically, using an abrasive cloth or a liquid scrub, or chemically. Common chemical exfoliating agents include salicylic acid and glycolic acid, which encourage the peeling of the top layer of skin to prevent a build-up of dead skin cells which combine with skin oil to block pores. It also helps to unblock already clogged pores. Note that the word "peeling" is not meant in the visible sense of shedding, but rather as the destruction of the top layer of skin cells at the microscopic level. Depending on the type of exfoliation used, some visible flaking is possible. Moisturizers and anti-acne topicals containing chemical exfoliating agents are commonly available over-the-counter.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck!

In common parlance, acne occurs when the pores of the skin are blocked by natural oil produced by our bodies and dirt. This mostly occurs during the onset of puberty, as the hormones are developing and also occurs regularly in pregnant women.

There are various acne products available in the market. People are taking antibiotics as an acne treatment much more today than in the past. However what happens is that your body becomes resistant to them, thus eliminating antibiotics as the best acne treatment.

Adult Acne Dermatologist

This type of acne is usually referred to as body acne . One of the leading causes of it is sweat. Do you hit the gym a lot, run or do anything else during the day that would get you to sweat a lot?

If so, the treatment could be as simple as drying off, or better yet, taking a shower. Try that out, and see if it helps. It could do wonders!

Often seeing a nutritionist and dermatologist can help but these can be expensive and sometimes it is hard to find good specialists. Another suggestion is to try one of the information products available on how to tackle acne naturally at home. These often include education on what successful nutritional and skin care steps to follow.
