I'm using YouTube a lot lately, and one thing really bothers me. It's that pause in the trailer, when the played section overtakes the already downloaded section. How can I set the player to start playing only if it finished downloading?

You can't do that.
The only thing you can do is to stop the movie when it starts loading and when you see it's ready push the play button and start watching.
Maybe it'll help if you write to YouTube support.
