GIVE a man a fish and you feed him for a day. TEACH a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

SADLY, most fishermen are afraid to touch the worm.

A:

I enjoy the mix and the topic groupings. I enjoy the true exchange of knowledge in some questions and the light hearted manner of others. Sadly, you mention people being upset because it's not "their way", this has become one of the major breaking points in this country (politically and socially), and it's across the entire spectrum of society and politics. THE DESIRE TO CONTROL OTHERS.

It bring to minds aphorisms about Glass Houses and Casting First Stones.

Sadly, looking at some of the questions (as they're written) I have to wonder about the competence and intelligence of the authors - incomplete sentences, horrid grammar, non-existent spelling and the fact that some of the "questions" are sheer gibberish alarms me about the country in general.

To those who don't think about their questions, if you're seriously seeking knowledge, you have to be able to convey your question in a comprehensible manner or the 'rest of us' can't help you with an answer.

This is an excellent, well rounded statement with which I completely agree --and that's a rare event these days. You covered the subject nicely and thank you for your concise, well target statement. The fact that you brought up the issue of control is very important in my view and hopefully others will consider this carefully since control of the thoughts of others seems to dominate many of the posts that I have read in many contexts, particularly of course, when religion, God, and Spirituality in general are the topics. This grows "scarier" and "scarier" as time passes and one sees this kind of thing slowly but surely tainting our interactions on Yedda and the real world as well.  I can't help but recall the quote: "Why can't we all get along?" here.

Thumbs up to you.

Be Peaceful,

Herb

" people that live in glass houses should not be the one to throw  the first stone"  is how it goes  !   do you live a glass house  ?  do you have a stack of stones ?  and i am one of the people you dont like to listen to their words because i dont want to look into a dictionary every time i want to say something.  i dont use big words and i dont read and write them. i am just me.  a very nice person without alot of education and have did a pretty good job teaching herself how to use her computer for the past month and loving yedda because i have learn alot from nice people on here and have learn some new words. ( that are understood by all ) what the heck is  aphorisms ?  and what does that have to do with the price of eggs anyhow ?  well see y'all around maybe.( you and herb ) or is it y'all ....like we say here in the south.  y'all  just keep on talking in your own little perfert world with your perfect words that dont make sence or is it spelled cents ? and yes  i read books.  and the bible.  you cast the first stone so i am just handing back to you so you can cast it to someone else that cares.  amen

God bless
