Is Yedda the first of it's kind in the way it invites people to answer questions?

It seems this may be the only free Q&A service that invites people to answer...moreso based on content analysis.

I think Yedda is the first to invite

users to answer question. There are sites that invite experts, or experienced web-searchers, to answer (as far as I know these are pay services, like Google Answers).

Have you noticed that replies to answers are not threaded, they are displayed at the same level as the answers. The only difference is that it says this is a reply to Kathie's

post, as opposed to an answer, which says this is a reply to john's question.
