Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

basically, when someone answers a question (it can be your question or just an answer that you see), you have a way of saying what you think about that answer.  if you strongly disagree with what the person said, you can give them 2 thumbs down.  if you just think that the answer is a bit distasteful, you can give them one thumbs down.  more importantly though, you have a way of thanking someone and commending them for their answer.  that's why we have thumbs up.  you can tell someone that their answer is fabulous, by giving them 2 thumbs up, and you can say that you agree with them, good answer, by giving them one thumbs up.  it's fun to be able to express your opinion.  you can type what you think, and also use the tumb system.

Well, somebody has decided to wipe out my thumbs up that I did have. I'm not sure how they did it. It wasn't very kind of them.

I give good answers to people's questions, and I help them get where they want to be.

So- whoever you are, yes, you aggravated me. However, I intend to keep helping people.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

Linnsa,

There are 2 sure ways you'll lose your thumbs up or you'll get thumbs down.

If you'll answer  questions related to politics and religion, you will wipe out all your thumbs up.  My philosophy though is that I'd like to express how I feel and so it's OK for me to lose thumbs up.

I came here to Yedda to help people and I'm happy when I get some personal e-mails thanking me for my opinion.

So you can choose your priorities.  A lot of times I don't take this personally because I know people have different ways of looking at things.

Take care.

I would like to know how to give thumbs up/down.  I can see the thumbs up button on the site, apparently when you click it you give the person a thumbs up.  What I want to know is how do you give a thumbs down?
