My question is about Yahoo! Messenger 8: Is there security risk in installing Plug-ins on Y!M8?

Y! Messenger 8 was designed with Security in mind.
The plugin model used to develop the plugins constrain them greatly in doing harm to your Y! Messenger and computer, thus making it rather secure to use.
I would recommend verifying that the plugin is from a good source and that you are downloading it either through Yahoo (or got to the site through Yahoo) or from a respectable site.
The search for people who can answer your question continues for as long as needed - until you find the answer you were looking for.
