Wt of bolts

Do all carbon 20in bolts weight the same ? say I shoot a 20in 425 total wt. bolt, the point 125, is the bolt 300gr? Or are some 20in bo;ts 325 so I half th used a 100 gr tip to get 425gr will the diff tip make it fly diff the 125 tip vers the 100 gr tip as long as I have 425 gr ?

Yes, the wt is omportant. Some states regulate the wt of broadheads. But the more important factor is the total shaft wt, including the shaft, fletching and broadhead wt. If that is not consistent (within +- 5 grs or so) , the effect of gravity will reduce accuracy. My suggestion is to use a digital powder scale and weight all your completed bolts and use modelling clay or some similar substance to equalize your bolt wts. Try to keep them all within the +- 5 gr wt allowance. The clay can be added in the front ferrule. Another trigk is to use a dremel tool to grind the rear of the broadhead threads to slightly reduce the broadhead wt. Good luck.
