I beleive the deepest river in the world is the Congo River, at over 750 feet deep. I could be wrong!
recently a fish was dicovered in the congo that was all white and has no eyes. the fish has only been found dead, washed up on the shores of the river. The fish indicated that there may be some very deep parts of the river given the adaptations of the fish. The scientists went looking for this deep hole in the river and found a portion of the river that was a underwater canyon. I beleave it ran for a few miles and its max depth was said to be 756 feet.
The deepest river has recently been found to be the Congo River in Africa. Depths were recorded in chasms that exceded 750 feet. Reference: National Geographic Channel, NatGeo Explorer "Monster Fish of the Congo" first aired April 26, 2009.
