What would the World's Population be after...?

There are approx. 6 billion people in the world today, right? My question is how much would the population decrease if there was full-scale nuclear war (with all major cities in the US being hit) followed by a virus that killed more of the earth's population?

Anyone know approx. how many people would be left then?

I'm thinking nuclear war would wipe out half the population bringing it down to 3 billion people. Then the virus should wipe out another half bringing the grand total to 1.5 billion people left. Any ideas if this is close to correct?

**NOTE: BTW, I am not a terrorist or anything LOL This is just a philosophical question based on a discussion my friends and I were having last night after watching "I AM LEGEND." :-)

Those are all speculations. What is a full scale nuclear war? how many bombs will be dropped, and where? those are issues one just can't predict, and therefore I find it hard to give even a rough estimation.

3 thumbs up

to wipe out half of the world's population you need thousands of nuclear bombs. a nuclear war can't last long enough for such amount of bombs to be dropped, because the fighting countries can't withstand a continuous nuclear attack.
