Workout with Nintendo Wii

Can a person exercise by playing the Nintendo Wii?  Can you recommend any games or Wii exercise programs that can help you lose weight, build muscles, etc?

Of curse

,

there is!

The game is played on a dance pad with four arrow panels: left, down, up, and right, or 6 arrows (the 4 main directions plus right and left diagonal panels, known as solo mode). These panels are pressed using the player's feet, in response to arrows that appear on the screen in front of the player. The arrows are synchronized to the general rhythm or beat of a chosen song, and success is dependent on the player's ability to time and position his or her steps accordingly.

There are many exercise and dancing games for the Nintendo wii – just go to this site and pick u the one who is best suited for you!

Why not? Buy yourself a heart rate monitor to track calories burned etc. and keep a log of your performance. Though, be sure to treat it like traditional exercise, i.e. warm up for a few minutes before any hard exertions and cool down/stretch after you're done. Vary your routine to prevent any repetitive motion injuries. Hydrate before you start (2 glasses of water) and after you are done.

Play, sweat and HAVE FUN!

If you are seriously interested in Wii stuff

Check out this blog and go through all the links, you will know more than everyone here then about the Wii. And yes you can keep fit by doing Yoga, tennis, baseball, gold, Wii fit, or even core workouts with the Wii balance board. The Wii puts fun back into a work out, you can even compete!

Heres the links , and check out the play Asia site because they have more games than we do since thats where the Wii comes from...
