You can do internet rating from home, but you do need to have your own business. You might also have to be bilingual, but that rule might not apply for the US.

I can assure you that it's serious - they do pay you, I know that from experience. But the pay is kind of low and there is a lot of manuals to read and rules to learn before you can actually get started. They also don't want you to work full time with this, it's supposed to be a part time job, 10-20 hours per week.

One plus is that they pay you for taking their exam. At least they used to, I haven't looked into it lately.
