I don't think that you can categorize it by man or woman. I think it soley depends on the type of person and type of boss they are. I have had good experiences in the past with both male and female bosses, and I can say that I have had bad experiences with both as well.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

I agree that it's unfair to generalize by gender.  There are good bosses and bad, both male & female.

However, many times, when someone assumes a position of authority that it not typically held by people of their gender or race, they can go overboard in making sure that they are taken seriously.  They are not power-mad, but feel that they have a stigma that has to be compensated for.  So, they micro-manage or go ballistic when something doesn't work out well.

It really dosent matter if woman or man boss, if their fair and know what they are doing I could care less what their sex is. I had a woman boss I hated because the way she did things, but I also hated some men bosses.  I guess it's how they treat you. And everyone cannot be treated the same, everyone is different and needs different handling.

I've had some bad experiences working for women. One woman tried to tell me how to do my job when she herself didn't know how to do it. I don't thake that kind of treatment from anyone. Two women I worked for embezzled money from the companies. This is not to say there aren't good women bosses out there. I'm sure there are. I've just had some bad experiences. And not had had equally bad experiences with male bosses.

I have had bad bosses of both genders .  I am a woman boss , I try not to let my gender or the gender of those working for me come in to play at all .  I try to treat everyone fairly .  Elden is right all employees can't be handled the same each one is different . I get along well with my employee's .  However I will tell you that I would rather have men working for me , they are much easier to manage . Sorry Girls !   This is not to say that I don't have good female employee's .  But I perfer men employee's they are just easier to deal with , based on my personal experience .
