I am planning to build a fish pond, and as a precaution against kids falling in I wish to build a wooden floor submerged 10cm beneath the surface.
My questions are:
Can wooden structure survive intact submerged underwater? (it must bear human weight)
If not wood, what other options can prevent people from falling in?
And a related question, can I use wooden structures inside soil? I know that wood decays when it is below ground, but perhaps there is some pre-treatment that can prevent this?
