I am afriad you will not like my answer, but I think women are going to far and has lost all respect for them selves, I think it would be classed as over exposure, but it dosen't leave anything to your imagination .Hope you get the answer your looking for.

I'd like to think women are perceived as heros; however, the first movie that comes to my mind is Charlie's Angels. Unfortunatley, I think that movie was more about sex appeal than it was about anything else. My thought is is that if the 3 angels had been less pretty and heavier, the movie would not have done as well in the box office.

Women make great action heroes because they are less physically powerful so this makes them more of an underdog and people always like to support the underdog. It is far more compelling to watch a woman kick the crap out of the baddies than it is to watch some great muscle bound man. From a male point of view I would care more for a female character in a violent situation than I would for another man.

What goes around comes around

Women have all the potential in the world for being great action film heroes. just look at the Kill Bill movies as an example. The things Uma does there are amazing and I didn't think she was there for the sex appeal (Though you got to admit she's OK in that department as well).

It's all a matter of the movie and the actor. I don't think a generalization is in place. There will always be movies that will take advantage of women's sex appeal, but they will usually be coming to compensate for a lack of something.

I think that they are just for sex appeal, the may have a part in the film with lines but at somepoint in the film they will loose some clothes. But if they wanted just sex appeal from a movie they were makeing then why wouldnt they make a porn film instead. (sorry just sorta answered your question with another)
