Windows Media Player 10 error

I downloaded Windows Media Player 11 but I didn't care for it so I went back to Windows Media Player 10.  Now I get a error message, (C00d11cd) everytime I want to play music from my music files.  I also cannot write music to a cd.  I can play music off cd's but not from my collection in My Music which is stored on my computer.  Can anyone help me out there???
