Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.

Bo's 15 minutes of fame are up. Nice dog. Time to move on.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Why the bitterness?  I think that Bo is cute and that it's exciting for Obama's kids to have a dog around.

Bo is indeed a rescued dog.  Someone coulnt handle him + sent him back to the breeder,  most breeders do take dogs back if it does not work out with the new family.  The fact that the Obamas did not go into a literal shelter is a non factor.  This dogs has a second chance at a loving family, the same way dogs adopted from a local pound do.  I have fostered nearly 40 unwanted dogs + adopted them to loving families - dogs that are ' rehomed' are indeed rescued.... trust me!

Full bred dogs do not come from the pound but breed rescue.  There is more than one way to rescue an animal.

My first Scottie belonged to my boss's son who did not take care of her.  They would lock her in the bathroom; no food, no water for a weekend while they went out on their boat.  I started taking care of her until it became full time after she was mated and had puppies.  They finally gave her to me.  I consider her a rescue dog......just like my cat who came to my door after a house in the neighborhood was forclosed on.  I just consider that I was the one who did the rescuing.

I just say that they enjoy and love the dog as I am sure they will.  I am so happy for them.  I have a feeling that when the President is up on some late nights the dog will be right at his feet.
