Municipal bonds are isued by a municipality (city) in order to raise money; it is actually a loan that you make and at the end of a specific term you will get your money plus interest.

A savings account is your personal bank account. You can deposit or withdraw money whenever you wish and you will receive interest compounded quarterly.
