Asked about “Swine Flu Outbreak

What's an american to do?

I don't understand what he heck is going on all the time,
what I do understand is the fact that american people are suffering.
I understand that the economy is in a bad condition, O.K.
what I don't understand is why we CAN afford to give 25 million dollars
to mexico to help with this flu. And are people dying or being killed
(example: A S.C. resident was shot by one of our own officers that
could have been prevented if the resident could afford the medication
of 1200.00 per month.) because we can't afford our own medication.
I'm not ashamed to admit that my family gets medicaid. But you know
these days it's not much help! I'm barely getting by. My son has been
in and out of the hospital because of his pneumonia, croup cough, and
asthma. They send him with a perscription for cough meds. and the insurance
(medicaid) does not pay for cough medication. My husband homebound for 4 weeks so far
with pneumonia also is still suffering the cough he has going on because
we americans can't afford it. What the hell is wrong here? And they wonder
why many people are taking illegal drugs. Well the way I look at it is,
1. The illegal drugs are cheaper than most perscribed medication.
2. The goverment apparently doesn't care for most of us americans or the
25 million would go to helping us.
3. If you supposely can't medicate your own family, the government will
step in and take your kids and place them in foster care where the
government will pay them to take care of the kids. To where if we had help
it would slack down in the area of homeless kids.
4. The news was complaining about homeless people and where to put them.
Well the government has land every where. Instead of constantly moving
them, open up a few acres and let them camp there and let it be known
that it's there and of course you'd have to post signs being most homeless people don't always have T.V.. Than they wont be trespassing on others property, and than everyone in the U.S. that has a heart for them and wants to volunteer to help feed or clothes them can do that. Let's see that should cost less than 25 million and it would cause less crime, as far as stealing and robbing. Oh and possably make more room in the jails for the real criminals.
I mean if the government can't straighten up than they need to get the hell out.
   What's an american to do?

P.S. It's lovely to know that we get to suffer
and mexico will recieve 25 million dollars from us.

                                                 My opinion, and best reguards

During our times of trial and suffering, when we see only one set of footprints in the sand, it was then that our Lord carried us.  We are not alone.

Tonya, I feel what you are saying.  The only thing we can do however, and I hate to say it is nothing.  We can complain about it, hold petitions, but what good would that do.  I am afraid that the American people are alone, because the government does not care about it's people enough to hear what we have to say.  Excellent post.

The twenty-five millions of dollars to Mexico is a drop in the bucket compared to all the money that we "spread" all over the world. Even countries that can take care of themselves come to us begging for "more and more." Giving money away like we are doing is pure madness. Michael Joel Held
