What's O.J. Simpson like in real life?

O.J. Simpson is in trouble again, looks like he has difficulties controlling himself...

I don't know why, but he always looked like a nice person to me (it's probably something in his eyes). How do people who know him personally describe him? Is he a nice guy?

He seems amiable enough, but obviously he has an amazing knack for violence...

The again, quite a lot of violent people look nice.
