Wendy and her awful taste

Can you explain why Wendy picks out the crap

Today I bumped into Wendy at the thrift store. She purchased 11 items that looked like it came from the thrift store. And they are tight on her. When she was trying on I was with her and she said for a few of them as she was trying on "These are big on me" I said to her "No they are not, they just fit you" and she replied "I like them very fitting" But the clothes are not fitting on her the clothes are tight. And bad quality. The fitting room is not individual it is a big room.

One was ribbed but the see thru part stretched to much on her making it look like it was ripping.

We both agreed that she and I have different tastes in clothes, she only like comfortable sporty clothes, and I am into dressing up. I will never ever wear jeans or tee shirts or any type clothes Wendy wears. The type of clothes I wear are classic, not trendy and very fashionable. And I am so grateful that I do NOT have the same taste as Wendy. Wendy's taste is in her a$$.

And everyone (strangers, cashiers, friends, relatives) all tell me I dress exquisitely.

So I am really baffled. Why does Wendy pick the crap. She thinks she doesn't or at least she says that but I think she realizes she does.

Voterperson, just as people have different tastes in music or literature, they can have different tastes in clothes.

Because your taste is different than Wendy's is no reason to run her down, is it? Be grateful her tastes are not the same as yours, that means that each of you can shop 'til you drop and not end up fighting over the same item.

Wendy likes what she likes. There may not always be a reason anyone else can understand. And at thrift store prices, it doesn't really matter if she buys stuff that won't last more than a few wearings. She can always go back and buy something else.

Maybe that's what Wendy likes best. In addition to the comfortable styles she chooses and the thrift store bargain prices, maybe she likes the fact that the clothes won't last long enough for her to tire of them.

You should stick to buying your classics and let Wendy enjoy the temporary status of her selections.

Voterperson,  Not every woman has the same taste in clothes, just like not every woman has the same taste in men.  Some pick the classy ones and some pick the crappy ones.  Wendy is your friend.  If she asks for your advise about her clothes, give it.  It she doesn't ask, then don't say anything.  Unless she looks totally ridiculous.  Just enjoy your friendship together.

Happy Valentine's. Play us a rose, you're organic, man.

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

After reading your lengthy question and giving it some thot, I came to one possible conclusion. I will phrase it as a question. Does running Wendy down help your self image?

I see no reason for you to be angry about the way another dresses. Unless it is your minor child.
