Weight Loss

What do you reccomend for weight loss? Clearly, I know what I need to do...just dont seem to be doing it. I feel like I've been in self destruction mode physically since I've been (mostly happily) married (12 years now). What do you suggest?

Portion control. Eat 6 times a day. Very little red meat. Do not consume more then 8 oz  of meat per day. Eat more fish. Eat Cherrios dry for morning snack. Limit sugar and only drink alcohol one day a week if you must. Non Fat Yogurt with dried unsweetned fruit. Steamed veggies with tomatoe and bell peppers. Season with lemon pepper or Salsa. Drink lots of water and tea. Do not drink stuff with alot of calories in it. - I lost 14 pounds in three weeks.

Fluffy, How to lose weight, ie, the way to change your diet, does not seem to be the problem in your case. What does seem to be the problem is that, in your own words, "I have been in self destruction mode physically since I've been (mostly happily) married." This statement indicates that there is a deeper issue here than just how to eat to lose weight. When we have an underlying dynamic where we self sabotage ourselves for some reason, it can be hard to achieve our goals. My suggestion to you would be to find a counselor who can work with you to discover what belief system you have that may be preventing you from being able to achieve weightloss. After removing beliefs that are obstacles, the losing weight should become much easier. Elena

Excercize is key to losing weight, along with a proper diet. Marty's advice on diet changes is right on. If you follow a good diet plan you will lose weight. Cardio excercizes are great for shedding pounds. Try walking at least an hour a day. Avoid excercizes that are too simple.. they are most likely a waste of time(like crunches). You could create your own diet & excercize plan or join a gym and have a trainer there create one for you. If you stick to it, you will lose weight.

Hello

It sounds like you lack motivation. You said yourself that you know what you need to do, but you are just not doing it. So, how can you get motivated? Make a list of all the rewards that you can think of for losing weight. For example, would you like to look 10 years younger? Would you like to be able to go out and buy a new wardrobe when you finally have that slim, sexy body? Would you like to be in great shape and have more energy? What motivates you? Focus on that.
