Website segmentation

Hi

Looking for information on how to segment the websites realm according to traffic.

Is there a research, tool, something ? that could segment this world per size traffic ?

Some site that will say :

from the 100 mm sites out there :

2 are big, 20 mid and the rest are small ...

Any ideas ?

website provider might tell you what tools are available by its log files.

Are you asking about websites you built or websites you watch in General?

If you are asking about website you built, then there are a few web counters you can use, it's abit of code that you put in every page and then let you know how many visitors you had. It can be visable for people who use the site on not. I use the one made by google:

http://www.google.com/analytics/

 

As for sites made by others, most web site owners don't want people to know how many visitors they had per day, I can't think of a way to know that. There are a few sites that rate other site by traffic, like Alexa  that rate different search engines:
