I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Jack is 100% right. A Web 2.0 site allows its users to interact with other users or to change website content, in contrast to non-interactive websites where users are limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them.

Things can go viral. Keep an eye out for the latest memes in Web 2.0. Web 2.0 sites are largely dominated by left-wing people - these guys/gals determine what is popular on these sites. You won't get something popular by extolling George W. Bush... or it will be very hard at least.

Angela has a point - if it's very interesting or funny or plain and simply NEW, it will move around faster than recycled crap.
