Water pipe re pipeing

pipe refitting

My hot water pipe broke in my cement foundation. the plumber wants to reroute the pipes overhead and then down to the bathrooms, kitchen, and washer.

I really don't want to tear up the floor to fix the pipe.

Are the plastic pipes better than the copper pipes?

What other things should I know before the plumber proceeds.

Thanks for any information.

Copper for piping the water, plastic for piping the drains.

I would have to see pictures of your problem at the very least to know which way to route the pipes.

What you need to know is if the plumber is trustworthy and knowledgeable.  Checking with their previous customers should give you an idea of that.
