I need to know if you can help me with this query. When the Queen Mary 2 left out of southhampton on its maiden, or first outing to sea, there was some kind of difficulty/problem that prevented them from leaving on the scheduled time. Since the area is controlled by the tides, they were working on a very strict time line or whould have to wait for the next time the water would be high enough.
I know this was on a documentary on the QM2. I know the draft (amount of water a ship needs to float) has to be about 35' 10" for the QM2. Since there was such a limited window to set sail because of water depth. Finally the problem was resolved and the QM2 set sail. They only had what I remember was something like and excess of 1 meter or about 39" water to set sail from the 35" 10" needed.
Could you find the correct measure excess that was there in the water. Like I said I believe it was like 1 meter or 39", it was a small amount though.
Thank you,
Mark
