Good afternoon Eric. I recently bought a new HE washer & dryer, but my washer drain turned into a geyser when it drained. I rented a pipe snake to clean the drain at the suggestion of my friends' husband #who is a licensed plumber# but we think I drilled an inpromptu 'new drain' because I pulled back about 1 1'2' of red dirt on the snake. Good news it that I can wash clothes without a flood on the floor, but how soon should I look into getting the pipe looked at & replaced. It's down in the slab with no easy way to get to it. I'm good at DIY, but I think this is more than I can handle.
