I purchased a used Kenmore portable top loader washing machine Model #110.48182790 . The problem is when filling the units tub starts to sink way down into the washer and you can see a 2.5 to 3.5 inch gap between the top of the unit versus the tub after starting to fill with water. The machine will "try" to work like this but has to start and stop during the spin cycle many times and I dont think it ever gets up to peak spin speed like this. I saw a blog on this website with another person that had a problem with his and he was advised to get new motor couplings for a different problem. One thing I saw when looking underneath the machine is that it is belt drive. I believe this to be a common issue with this model of washer, as I used to live in a apartment complex a few years ago and they used the same model washer in the apartments just newer. {push botton versus dials} I recall i went through two Kenmore portable washers when I lived in that apartment. {I promise i didnt abuse the little unit} but the maintence man in the apartment complex simply replaced the machine with a new one and Im assuming junked the broken units, so i have no idea what is causing the isssue.
