Which is better cardiovascular exercise -- walking briskly for 15 or 20 minutes, or taking a walk at a normal pace for twice as long?
Great information on health, diet, and exercise: www.mattmetzgar.com
Usually, as the intensity of aerobic exercise increases, the cardiovascular benefits increase as well. So walking faster would provide slightly more cardio benefits than walking slower.
However, for weight loss, walking twice as far will burn a good bit more calories than walking faster over the same distance. There are some walking calorie calculators at: http://walking.about.com/od/weightloss/Walking_Off_Weight.htm
