WW II practice bomb
I recently found a bomb that i think is a wwII vintage practice bomb on my land in Southern Illinois near the Ohio rivrer. Cave In Rock, Il. is the nearest town to my land. It is about 30" long and 6" in diameter. It is bullet shaped at the nose and tapered back at the rear with 3 very thin fins on the back. it is entirely pitted and probably has been laying there for many years. my question is if this is a practice bomb and is it dangerous? how could it have possibly got there. Where there any pracicted bombs dropped in or around the Shawnee National Forest in Souther Illinois during wwII.
