Vitamins, minerals, oil, supplements needed for a woman of 34 and needed as she ages?

What supplements (whether vitamin, mineral, antioxidant, oils, etc.) should be taken by a fairly healthy woman of 34 and continue to be taken as she ages?  Only this year have I begun pay attention.  I notice a lot of constant stiffness and pain in my joints, and I get different advice from everyone I know -- fish oil, cod liver oil, flaxseed oil, wheat germ oil, Osteo Bi-Flex containing glucosamine and chondroitin, a GNC woman's multivitamin.

There seems to be so much advice, and I can only take so many supplements per day.  What do you highly recommend that works?  Because I don't want to have such a laundry list of them that I cannot keep up with taking them.

Look for food-based multivitamins.  These are derived from wholesome fruits and vegetables and are the most effectively absorbed type of multivitamin. This means you reap the full benefits of each dose.

Think twice about adding a mineral supplement to your diet unless you find that you have an actual deficiency in that mineral.  Oftentimes, mineral supplements in tablet or capsule form have unpleasant side effects.  However other dosage forms can be absorbed through the skin as part of bathing and aren't known to cause side effects.  Mineral supplements may interfere with other nutrient levels in your body so verify the correct dosage with your doctor.

Multivitamin and mineral supplements may be effective, but sometimes contain many times the recommended daily allowance of what the body actually needs.  Any excess nutrients are discarded and unused by your body. Why put more things in your body that you won't actually use?

Remember, the best and most effective way for your body to absorb nutrients, vitamins and minerals is through your regular diet.  I suggest you learn more about foods rich in minerals . Finally, ask yourself, are minerals supplements such as magnesium right for you?

For joints, I take GoFlex which contains glucosamine, hyal joint, and a combination of other nutrients and herbs known to help maintain joint health . It is a well researched product formulated by a physician.  I have been using it for the past 3 months now and I have been able to resume my regular exercise routine without experiencing any joint pain. I’ve studied the ingredients. They not only help to reduce pain but also help prevent any further degeneration of the joint. I would recommend it and it is also highly recommended by the famous baseball player, Tommy John.

There is one supplement which is second to none and it's called RELIV.  I was very very sick and the doctors couldn't figure it out and wanted me to go to Mayo clinic.  My sister convinced me to take RELIV.  I didn't believe it would help me, but I took it faithfully and within a few months I started feeling better.  I now have my life back and my doctors are blown away!  If you would like more info my email is Lauren46311@yahoo.com
