Vitamin E & Lung Cancer

Can vitamins -- in particular vitamin E -- cause lung cancer?

There is a bit of a paradox in the research. On one hand doctors say that Vitamins can in fact help prevent different types of cancers due to their high amount of antioxidants. On the other hand...Vitamin A which is found in beta carotene, a substance found in green vegetables and carrots, can increase the risk of lung cancer in heavy smokers. A study involving nearly 30,000 participants found that there were 18% more lung cancers and 8% more deaths in smokers taking beta carotene. Read more about this

here. Based on this research, I would quit smoking and eat my vegetables.

I don't believe so.. however, it seems as though there's a study these days stating that anything can cause cancer! You can find a lot more information on vitamin E on
