I have a strange bug in Vista where calls from Firefox or Outlook to a file browse window crashes the calling application. Any ideas? (Microsoft has given up and told me to reinstall Vista)

Do you have any shared folders mapped to a network drive? Do you have various other drives defined in Windows that are not physical ones (like a virtual CD drive that you can mount CD/DVD images into it) ?
Do you have an external drives (like an external USB drive) attached?
