Hi,


This is a 1 million $ question.  Each side see it from it's own angle and with it's own paradigmas.  The Israeli point of view, in short, is: The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel.  That is clearly written in the Bible and all the nations accept it (take it for granted) excluding the arab states.  After the 2nd workd war many jewish refugees (from the Nazi's regime) returned to their homeland ( = Israel).  The arab states opposed to that and did all they could to escalate the conflict.  The culture differnces have very litlle to do here (the same conflict would be if the cultures were the same !.  In fact some 40 -60% of all Israelies are refugies from arab countries and have a very similar culture to the arabs, and almost all Israelies respect and even like the arab culture).
It's important to note that through all the generation always were jews in Israel (including the times when most jews were in the diaspara).
