How is it that if you have a set of data, x1,y1....xn,yn with a known linear relationship between x & y (y = mx + c), and the best straight line fit MUST go through xbar, ybar (xbar average of all x values, ybar is average of all y values).

Vegetarian?

What is the best way to tell your parents and family you want to be a vegetarian? I m not becoming one because it is a "trend" or I'm going through a phase. Im an adult and care about animals.

Just say it. I don’t know why anyone would oppose, but if you are looking for them to support your decision, that’s another story. If you decide to become a vegetarian and it has no affect on your family, then why look for approval? Looking for approval in this manner causes people to interfere in your decision making. Something to think about.

Don't worry, be Happy!

Do you live with your parents or relatives?  Are you required to cook for them often?  Are they big meat eaters?  These are questions you should ask yourself before you tell them, so you will be prepared for their objections, and be able to stick to your convictions.  Which raises another question.  Are you sure you want to do this?  Becoming a vegetarian is not easy, especially if you've been a meat eater all your life.  You should give this a lot of thought.  Do some research as to what you'll have to give up besides meat, such as milk, butter, cream, whipping cream (ouch), ice cream (ouch, ouch), cheese, etc, etc.

Good Luck, whatever you decide.

I am under the impression that there are different levels and or versions when it comes to the vegetarian life. Am I wrong?

The way I look at it, you are an adult and should be able to make your own decisions. Do you still live at home or are you on your own? If you're on your wown, it shouldn't affect anybody. Just make sure that's what you really want before you do this. Take care.
