"Hello, Newman."
"Hello, Jerry."
I'm curious how Valentine's Day is celebrated in countries other than the United States. Also, I'd be interested in information about holidays that are similar to Valentine's Day -- in other words, holidays that celebrate love.
In Israel we celebrate Valentin's day by spending it with our partner. I understood that in the US you celebrate it with everyone you love. So in Israel you actually celebrate it only if you have a romantic partner and older people sometimes don't celebrate it at all (it's a relativity new holiday in Israel because we started celebrating it due to the American TV influence on Israel). We celebrate the holiday by buying flowers and chocolate and usually in a fancy restaurant or a great love theme party.
We have a similar holiday named "Tu be'av" which celebrated by the Hebrew calender around August. People dressed in white and celebrate it pretty much the same as Valentin's.
Thank you, Dalina. It's interesting to know how Valentine's Day (or a similar holiday) is celebrated in another country.
