I'm pretty much that way with all holidays.  Yet, I guess that it is nice to have special days.  Thing is, each day is special.  My husband of 26 years does not like to shop, why should he run out and shop when almost everything I enjoy each day is because of our life together.  It isn't like he doesn't tell me he loves me a lot and also shows his appreciation...so what is the big deal about V-day?  I'm not sure either.  On the other hand, if it meant anything to either of us, the other one would go out of our way to make it special for the other.  If your wife sees the point of it and it makes her feel special, then I guess it is another way to give to partner and see them smile.  Then it has the meaning she gives to it, and her feelings are certainly important.  Who knows what kind of childhood memories and all are involved in these things?  I have no need of it either, but to some people it goes a long way to making the heart smile.
