A:

Ethlyne Glycol is a chemical used in making Anti-freeze. If it was found in used motor oil, it means that you have anti-freeze (water) in you cars engine. In most cases, water appears as a "milky" color on your oil dipstick tube. In short, you will SEVERELY damage your cars engine in just a very short distance when the oil is contaminated with water / antifreeze. In most causes. it is the HEAD GASKET that needs to be REPLACED. It keeps water / anti out of your engine. It likely has worn out and failed. It's the most common cause. The part is in-expensive but a very difficult repair to be made by a skilled repair person. Gasket repairs usually cost from $600 to $900. Worse, water can also enter the oil thru the engine cylinder. Sometimes the retaining pin of a piston can pop out of place and scuff thru the cylinder wall into the water jackets of the engine. If that has happened, the entire engine needs to be replaced.
