Usa and israel

Sir, I do not understand Mr.Netanyahu's new plan to deal with the Arabs. I only know the only thing they want is the destruction of the Jewish state..after Israel pulled out of Gaza I assumed the Arabs will show the world that they can establish a viable state. Look what happened. You noticed I do not use the word Palestinians. There is no such a thing. They do not have their own LANGUAGE, their own culture, they are Arabs. I have been coming to Israel since 1959 almost every year. I am 90 years old and I served 5 years during WW2 in the American army, born in Vienna Austria and was lucky to escape to America. My mother and sister and the rest of my family perished during the Holocaust. My wife, who spent the war in concentration camp[Teresinstadt] died in 1999 .After her death I served in the Israeli army, Camp Joliet near Ashdot Tank camp. I could never understand how a government could let their citizens be killed[ SDEROT].So I am a little paranoid and want a little real estate for my children and grand children to be here. What happened to the Jews in Europe can happen[Holocaust] in the USA and the rest of the world. In my many years of my life I came to the conclusion that there are only two people; THEM and US. I have Gentile friends whom I Ski with etc but deep down I felt they do not want us to be on this earth.
With all due respect to Mr.Netanyahu and his plan to do business with the Arabs of the West Bank, but not to give up any land. I must disagree with him and submit to you my own plan which is as follows: To accomplish my plan,we Jews have to learn to depend only and I mean only on ourselves.not to ask our enemies what they want us to do. Forget the USA [it uses Israel as an aircraft carrier in the see of oil.the same time she placates the Arabs.]and forget the rest of the world. Let us have an Israel with secure borders,Jerusalem as its capital access to all religions] ,the large settlements with land for expansion, which will come from land of the westbank. The rest of the West Bank and Gaza the Arabs can have. Israel can sustain. It has the best and strongest army and air force in the middle east,a good economy with brilliant people to sustain it. As an additional insurance for its security she has Nucelur weapons.Let the rest of the world take care of the Palestinians.Lets do once what is good for us Jews and not do what our enemies want us to do.Now is a good time to start working on my plane,as the whole world is in an econamik turmoil especially the USA.I hope with my plan  I will have planted a seed in Mr.Netanyahu mind and hopefully right wing cabinet.
                                         respectful   KURT  GRAU
P.S.  I believe in peace with all my heart.Real peace with no strings attached.May be in a decade or so
the arabs will realize, they cant destroy Israel and even attempt to do busines with the JEWShhhhhhhh

THE DEATH OF ISRAEL

From Caroline Glick, deputy editor and op-ed writer for the Jerusalem Post, comes alarming news.  An expert on Arab-Israeli relations with excellent sources deep inside Netanyahu's government, she reports that CIA chief Leon Panetta, who recently took time out from his day job (feuding with Nasty Pelosi) to travel to Israel "read the riot act" to the government warning against an attack on Iran.

More ominously, Glick reports (likely from sources high up in the Israeli government) that the Obama administration has all but accepted as irreversible and unavoidable fact that Iran will soon develop nuclear weapons.  She writes, "...we have learned that the [King Obama] administration has made its peace with Iran's nuclear aspirations. Senior administration officials acknowledge as much in off-record briefings. It is true, they say, that Iran may exploit its future talks with the US to run down the clock before they test a nuclear weapon. But, they add, if that happens, the US will simply have to live with a nuclear-armed mullocracy."

She goes on to write that the King Obama administration is desperate to stop Israel from attacking Iran writing that "as far as the [King Obama] administration is concerned, if Israel could just leave Iran's nuclear installations alone, Iran would behave itself."  She notes that American officials would regard any harm to American interests that flowed from an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities as Israel's doing, not Iran's.

In classic Stockholm Syndrome fashion, the King Obama administration is empathizing more with the Iranian leaders who are holding Israel hostage than with the nation that may be wiped off the map if Iran acquires the bomb.

King Obama's end-of-the-year deadline for Iranian talks aimed at stopping its progress toward nuclear weapons is just window dressing without the threat of military action.  As Metternich wrote "diplomacy without force is like music without instruments."  By warning only of possible strengthening of economic sanctions if the talks do not progress, King Obama is making an empty threat.  The sanctions will likely have no effect because Russia and China will not let the United Nations act as it must if it is to deter Iranian nuclear weapons.

All this means is that Israel's life is in danger.  If Iran gets the bomb, it will use it to kill six million Jews.  No threat of retaliation will make the slightest difference.  One cannot deter a suicide bomber with the threat of death.  Nor can one deter a theocracy bent on meriting admission to heaven and its virgins by one glorious act of violence.  Iran would probably not launch the bomb itself, anyway, but would give it to its puppet terrorists to send to Israel so it could deny responsibility.  King Obama, bent on appeasement, would likely not retaliate with nuclear weapons.  And Israel will be dead and gone.

Those sunshine Jewish patriots who voted for King Obama must realize that we, as Jews, are witnessing the possible end of Israel.  We are in the same moral position as our ancestors were as they watched Hitler rise but did nothing to pressure their favorite liberal Democratic president, FDR, to take any real action to save them or even to let Jewish refugees into the country.  If we remain complacent, we will have the same anguish at watching the destruction of Israel that our forebears had in witnessing the Holocaust.

Because one thing is increasingly clear: King Obama is not about to lift a finger to stop Iran from developing the bomb.  And neither is Hillary Clinton.

King Obama may have held the first White House cedar, but he's not planning to spend next year in Jerusalem.

US pressure on Arab states grows

President Obama and King Abdullah in Riyadh in June 2009
The meeting in June with King Abdullah did not achieve its aims

By Kim Ghattas
BBC News, Washington

Amid a flurry of US diplomatic activity in the Middle East, the Obama administration is increasing the pressure on Arab countries to do more to help kick-start the peace process. This follows months of pressure on Israel to freeze settlement activity.
The Obama administration has been frustrated by the lack of movement on all sides but has reportedly been particularly disappointed by how little Arab countries have been willing to do or even promise.
Wary from past experience of negotiating with the Israelis, the official Arab position has been one of "show us the goods, then we will talk".
"Things may have moved a bit over the last few days, but it's been one of the administrations biggest disappointments," said one Washington-based advocate on Arab issues with close contacts with the US administrations and relevant parties in the Middle East.
A US official also said the meeting in May in Riyadh between President Barack Obama and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia did not go as expected.
"President Obama went to Saudi Arabia and got nothing," said the official with close knowledge of the talks.
'Unfulfilled promises'
The US administration is reportedly also upset with Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, for failing to give the Palestinian Authority adequate financial support, disbursing almost none of the money they pledged at donor conferences over the last two years.

The US on Friday announced it was transferring US $200m (£121m) it had pledged in March and called on others to follow suit.

We must stop the small-minded waiting game in which each side refuses to budge until the other side makes the first move .We've got to be bigger than that... if peace is to have a chance

Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain
To offset the shortfall from donor funds, the cash strapped Palestinian Authority has had to borrow money from private banks for the last three months.
Special envoy for the Middle East George Mitchell who has already visited almost all Arab countries, is now on a tour that includes Egypt, Syria and Bahrain.
He is reportedly pressing Arab states to agree to some confidence building measures which would come in parallel with an Israeli promise to freeze settlements - the hope is that this can start a process that would eventually lead to a regional peace conference during the summer, according to various officials and observers in Washington.
Israel has been holding its ground on the settlement freeze issue.
The US administration is seeking even more from Arabs to unblock the Israeli position. With neither side wanting to budge first, the strategy is focused on a simultaneous move by both Israelis and Arabs.
Difficult steps
Speaking after his meetings in the West Bank, Mr Mitchell said "that in order to achieve the objective the president has asked that all those involved takes steps to make possible an early return to meaningful negotiations and a prompt resolution of those negotiations".
That means that everyone must take steps, some difficult, some controversial.
A state department official also confirmed that Mr Obama had recently sent letters to several Arab leaders asking them "to commit to steps towards Israel and to increase support for the Palestinian Authority, in the context of meaningful Israeli moves towards peace".
Barack Obama in Cairo
Obama gave a key speech to the Muslim world in Cairo in June
The talk of confidence-building measures is a sensitive one for Arab countries and partly explains what happened in Riyadh in May. The meeting was a last-minute addition to the itinerary, and preceded Mr Obama's speech in Cairo. It appears to have been an ill-prepared affair - the king did not expect the American request and the president did not expect to come out empty handed.
Some of what has been discussed in general, but not necessarily specifically during this meeting, includes over flight rights for Israeli carriers over Arab countries, and the opening of Israeli trade missions in Arab countries.
But King Abdullah, Custodian of the two Holy mosques and leader of a key regional power, was reluctant to put his credibility on the line because of past experience, such as the Sharm al-Sheikh talks in June 2003 which preceded the formal launch of the road map in Aqaba.
In his book, The Arab Center, former Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher recounts how President George W Bush, in attempt to convince Arab leaders to make concessions for the sake of peace, told them: "If I did not think we could do this, I would not be here."
Almost six years later and with no Palestinian state in sight, the King Abdullah may have wondered why he should believe the assurances of yet another American president about peace making.
Reaching out
But with Mr Obama so clearly reaching out to the Arab world, there is some willingness to help though no desire to get burnt.
So it has now fallen to the small, pro-Western kingdom of Bahrain to take the lead publicly, with reported tacit support from the Saudis.
Earlier this month, the Crown Prince, Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, wrote an opinion letter in the Washington Post arguing that the Arab states need to talk to the Israelis.
He argued that the biggest mistake in the peace efforts has been to assume that "you can simply switch peace on like a light bulb" and that Arabs have not done enough to communicate directly with the people of Israel.
"We must stop the small-minded waiting game in which each side refuses to budge until the other side makes the first move, "Sheikh Salman wrote in the Washington Post.
"We've got to be bigger than that. All sides need to take simultaneous, good-faith action if peace is to have a chance."

Obama Clarifies: Israel Is The Problem Not The Palestinians
President Obama invited a very select group of Jewish leaders to the White House.
Like all his events, Obama made sure that his supporters dominated the room. Flanked by staffers Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, Obama overloaded the guest list with left leaning American Jews. Groups like Peace Now, The National Jewish Democrat Council, and J Street, all of whom oppose the the elected government of Benjamin Netanyahu, were included among the typical "major Jewish organizations."
Obama made sure that groups supporting the right wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu were a distinct minority.

From a few published reports and other sources, One Jerusalem has pieced together a picture of what took place at this meeting. In short, Obama made it clear that he feels Israel must be pushed to make a deal with the Palestinians - which means that Obama is planning to force Israel to compromise on Jerusalem, settlements, the West Bank, and possibly the right of return.  He will not be dissuaded by facts on the ground (more on this later), and he sees a moral equivalency between the plight of the Palestinians and the needs of the State of Israel.

When Malcolm Hoenlein of the Conference of Major Organizations made the case that progress on the Palestinian front comes when there is "no daylight" between the policies of the United States and Israel, Obama responded that despite overwhelming support by President Bush no progress was made. When Hoenlein pointed out that under Bush, Israel took the momentous step of withdrawing from Gaza (One Jerusalem opposed this action) and previously under other friendly Administrations went the extra mile, like adopting The Road Map, Obama refused to let these facts change his mind.

Our friend Rick Richman does a superb job responding to Obama:
The following would be my summary of the progress over the past eight years -- which Obama apparently ignored in his response to the group:

After the Palestinians rejected an offer of a state at Camp David in 2000, rejected the Clinton Parameters in 2001, and conducted a terror war against Israeli civilians from September 2000-2002, Israel nevertheless agreed in 2003 to the "Performance-Based Roadmap" for the creation of a Palestinian state, despite reservations about the manner in which that plan would actually be implemented.

In 2003 and thereafter, Israel ceased all settlement activity -- as it understood that Phase I Roadmap obligation (no new settlements; no building outside settlement boundaries; no financial incentives for Israelis to move to settlements) -- and believed American officials agreed with its interpretation of that obligation.

In 2004, after the Palestinian Authority failed to meet its own Phase I Roadmap obligation (sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist groups and infrastructure), Israel nevertheless proposed to dismantle every existing settlement in Gaza (not just "outposts"), remove every Israeli soldier, and turn over the entire area to the Palestinian Authority -- in exchange for a written American commitment to defensible borders and retention of the major settlement blocs necessary to insure them.

In 2005, after receiving the American commitment, Israel proceeded to carry out the Gaza disengagement, despite the political and social upheaval within Israel it caused, including the break-up of the ruling party and nationwide demonstrations, and - at State Department insistence - further dismantled four settlements (not just "outposts") in the West Bank as well, to demonstrate the disengagement would be "Gaza First," not "Gaza Last."

In 2006, after the Palestinians elected their premier terrorist group to control their government, Israelis nevertheless re-elected Kadima on a platform of "convergence" (the new name for withdrawal from the West Bank), and would have carried it out but for the attacks by Hamas from Gaza and Hezbollah from Lebanon that caused two wars and finally convinced Israelis further withdrawals were insane.

In 2007, despite the Palestinian failure to carry out its Phase I dismantlement obligation, and its categorical rejection of Phase II (a state with provisional sovereignty before Phase III final status negotiations), Israel agreed to proceed immediately to final status negotiations once again under the "Annapolis Process."

Throughout 2008, Israel negotiated with its "peace partner" under the accelerated process, and offered 100 percent of the West Bank (after land swaps) for a state, with concessions on other major issues, all of which were rejected.

During this eight-year period, the Palestinian concessions (aka reciprocal "progress") can be enumerated more briefly:  zero.

But Obama reiterated his commitment to forcing Israel to give Palestinians what they want. In other words he does not want to be deterred from his prejudices by the facts.

One Jerusalem has been warning Israel's supporters that the Obama Administration is dead set on using all its power to force Israel to capitulate even if it means dividing Jerusalem and weakening its defenses.
We must continue to recruit people in the campaign to defend Israel and Jerusalem.  Signing our Jerusalem petition is a sure fire way to stay informed about important news that you will probably not get anywhere else and to learn insider analysis.

As Obama's troubles at home multiply, look for him to show leadership by beating up on Israel. We need to be prepared to fight back.

Sent them a sign, sent them a sign, sent them a sign, but they closed their eyes.

But they closed their eyes...

Nowhere to hide, nowhere to run
He prophesied this day would come
You can close your eyes when he sends you the sign
You can just pretend that you have plenty of time
But when you're caught in the eye of the storm

Nowhere to turn as the thunder crashes
So many time you were warned
Now you're caught in the eye of the storm
Apocalypse stands at the door
You're caught in the eye of the storm

Ages ago, voices so cruel
"Noah" they cried, "You're such a fool"
And still today, skeptics abound
Until the water will cover the ground
And they are caught in the eye of the storm

Nowhere to turn as the thunder crashes
So many time you were warned
Now you're caught in the eye of the storm
Apocalypse stands at the door
You're caught in the eye of the storm

You could give him your heart
While you still have the time
You can give him your soul
You can give him your mind
You can fall on your knees
You could cry out "Save me"

One day when the lightning crashes
One day when the thunder rolls
One day when apocalypse is standing knockin' at your door
You'll be safe in the arms of Jesus
You'll be safe forever more
You'll be praising him forever
What a glorious reward
You'll be safe with the Lord
Not caught in the eye of the storm

Caught in the eye of the storm

Nowhere to turn as the thunder crashes
So many time you were warned
Now you're caught in the eye of the storm
Apocalypse stands at the door
You're caught in the eye of the storm

NEW ALLIANCE: Obama shifts America's Mideast alliance from Jerusalem to Cairo
President Barack Hussein Obama’s “historic” speech to the Muslim world in Cairo points to a new alignment between East and West which will have a major impact on the Arab-Israeli conflict.
http://www.israeltoday.co.il/

Washington’s traditional alignment with Jerusalem, an expression of the Judeo-Christian ethic, is changing direction. The Washington-Cairo track signals warming ties between the US, the Arab world, and perhaps more significantly between America and Islam.
“We must get used to the fact that Israel is no longer America’s baby,” wrote Nahum Barnea in Israel’s biggest newspaper Yediot Ahronot. “Today, Obama is coddling the Arab world.”
An official in the Israeli Foreign Ministry told Israel Today: “The American public must wake up and realize that Obama is more Muslim than Christian.

The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country - I know, because I am one of them

The United States is not, and never will be, at war with Islam.
