Usa citizen marrying a tourist

I am an American citizen legally divorced.I want to marry an indian girl whom i know for few months.i met her in singapore.she is here in usa on tourist visa.she came to attend a conference.she has valid visa till 2019 multiple entry.her this time visa is till til feb 2010.we both are physians and has no problematic history.we both have clean records.

can i marry her in usa and apply a change of status for her

is it better to travel to canada and marry there and she goes back to india and i apply for spousal visa/k3 visa for her.

i am so confused.what is the best thing to do legally with no risk.i want to bring her here and stay with her.

The laws in the US can sometimes be vey confusing. I wiuld suggest you contact a lawyer specializing in immigration affairs or consult one of the many US Immigration offices.

By the way, I forgot to tell you that there is no need for an Immigration lawyer. They charge so much money. People use Immigration lawyers if they have potential problems. You are a doctor and so is she. You won't have any problem sponsoring her at all. Take care. Keep us posted.

You can marry her here because she had legal entry into the US.  You and her will file a I-485 pkg for her.  Total cost $1,365 (includes the I-130).  The base fee of the I-485 is $1,010 and most people have not done the I-130.  Anyway, the I-485 includes a travel document that she will fill out.  Once she receives it in the mail, then she can travel outside the U.S. and preserve her I-485 pkg without abandoning it.  When she files, she will gets receipts in the mail, then she will be scheduled for biometrics and then an appointment for interview.  If she has a good background, no arrests or other immigration problems then you could probably do the pkg on your own.  No need for an expensive attorney.  Some people do use them because it simply makes them feel better.  Note, attorneys get no special consideration.  You probably could do everything on your own.  If questions on some parts of the application, take it in to the immigration office and ask them what it means.
