Urgent response requested please!!!!!!

my husband is 100% service connected.  he was medically retired from the army several years before we married.  he receives a sizeable check each month.  we are currently starting divorce proceedings.  he is trying to keep me from receiving any of that pay even though we used that as our major source of income during the marriage.  what he doesnt seem to realize is we used that as a source of income when we bought our house, cars, etc.  he also gets a raise every year for our kids.  with all that said, can he make it so they dont count his va retirement pay in our divorce?

The law works but the system needs changed, We all abide by the law but sometime it failes us. The same with the goverment. God bless the USA, Brign our troops HOME safely, To the men who did not get the credit they deserve, MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR SERVICE MEN.

In this matter only your divorce attorney can give you the answer you are looking for.

All things are possible if you set your mind to it & dedicate yourself to what you want & never take yourself too seriously!Wink

I believe you should talk to an attorney first & foremost. I personally believe you will be entitiled to a portion of the money because of the fact the money was used to support the entire family. If you did not work during the marriage, you will definatly be entitled to a portion of the money because he was the sole breadwinner. Best bet-talk to a lawyer, many of them give free legal advice via the internet. Best of luck.
