Universal remote control only works on DVD and TV not on Stereo.

I have a universal remote control it seems to work fine on the TV and DVD. It dosen't work on my Stereo I think it is because it's from a different brand. Only when I change channel I coded the remote too it works.Is there anything I can do, in-order for them all to work from the same remote?

Check to see whether the remote has a learning option. Basically, on most universal remotes, after setting the learn mode you should put both remotes against each other, not further then 10cm. Press and hold one of the buttons on the TV/stereo/dvd remote. do the same on the desired button on the Universal remote. hold them both for a few seconds and release. Should do the trick.
