Unhealthy celebrity weight loss but more popular? What's the deal?

Why is it that despite celebrities being confronted in the news with their unhealthy weight loss, they continue to gain popularity/publicity and are complimented so much more by the media?

The less that you give you're a taker

Think about how a star ends it life (like a star in space, that is). As it becomes more unstable, it gains more attention because it is more visible, until it eventually runs out of energy and turns into a black hole or a white dwarf. Anna Nicole could be the black hole, and maybe Posh Spice could be the white dwarf!?

Most Americans are fat and want to be skinny. Hollywood doesnt want to end up being like the rest of us. Its understandable because most of the men there are in good shape. Im not saying that most of the people who have eating disorders are women though , its just that they would like to impress men and other women. Its sort of like a compitition for them.
