"Ugly Betty" and "High School Musical 2" were winners at the Family Television Awards.

The ABC series "Ugly Betty" and the Disney movie "High School Musical 2" were double winners at the ninth Family Television Awards. Do you think that their popularity could reflect/and or help to create a  less superficial and more accepting attitude within society? Will the younger generations who are watching become a more open-minded and less critical group of people?

When life presents a challenge, take your shot.

I do think that there are positive influences in our society like these shows, and they will have their effect on some people.  But, I can't say that I think these shows will change the way people are.  Those who are closed minded and want to categorize people will keep doing what the do.  They will maybe see these shows once, think the shows are stupid, and watch something else.  Of course, people can change for the good, but it's unrealistic to think that every person is going to end up being a good person.
