U.S. armed forces age limits

Is there an age limit when trying to enlist in the U.S. armed forces?  With the current waning numbers of recruits, I have heard that the age limitations have become flexible.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....

I'm pretty sure you have to be 18, or maybe with special permission you can be 17.... but it's illegal for them to take you any younger.
