USB thumbdrive with Ubuntu and XP?

How do I set up a usb thumbdrive so I can share the files between a ubuntu machine and a windows xp machine.  Or is this simple plug and play?

as long as you don't format the thumb drive partition - leaving it FAT32 - there is nothing to do - thumb drive is usable between the 2 OS's.
