my usb ports suddenly stopped working for my devices (handheld external hard disk, poket pc, etc...). When I plug them in, the devices get power but I get a notification that my device is not working and dometimes I get no notification at all.
How do I fix this?
Hello, Try checking your Bios to see whether USB connections are enabled. If you don't know how to enter the Bios and have the model of the motherboard post it here. I'll write you how it's done.

The USB ports work - I can hook up other devices to them.
It is only my HP IPAQ which stopped being recognized by the USB port (after working with it for a long while) - it suddenly stopped responding.
When I hook up my IPAQ I get "USB device not recognized".
I have already tried to delete all the USB devices from the device manager and force a new USB device installation through the "add new hardware" icon.
I also deleted the registry entries that contain 'Unknown" devices and IPAQ devices (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\).
Not sure what to try next.
Any ideas?
Have you tried connecting the IPAQ with another computer?
I changed my connection Active Sync settings (on my IPAQ) to RNDIS, which worked for some reasone.
If it is a computer problem. Your computer is not damaged by a virus. USB2.0 driver is not installed or version not compatible intact. Is there a software conflict (first solve the software problems) generally come out a prompt to install the 4 port usb hub . USB board internal problems. This is a universal problem, especially for 7 port usb hub .
