I was always told people(kids) got it in the Fall. Yes I got in the Fall at the age of 10. I was also told it was a virus. Do they know yet??
I found out in August (on my birthday). I was 31 at the time but was diagnosed as Type 1 and started injecting insulin right away. At the time that didn't have a name for this type of diabetes, now it is called Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA). There are many in the medical profession that think there is a connection to diabetes and a virus, but as of now, you and I are still waiting for the cure.
