Two pain clinics - one person

Can a person go to two different pain clinics as long as they do not get the same medications?

Not a slogan, but I am advertising I guess, for physicians that will help me get a differential diagnosis. I have been chronically ill for about 10 years and I have become ill with many different strange symptoms. I have had a few diagnosis but I have been refused treatment for the diagnosis. (small town, only hospital in county is just a triage hospital). I will accept invitations from any physicians/sprecialists, wo is willing to help me figure out what I am dying from. In the mean time, I will do as I have been doing, and continue to help others. God Bless.

Hello,

I do not believe that would be a good idea. You state that you are getting medications. I am assuming opiode or pain medications, from one of the clinics. You most likely signed an Opiode Contract in which you must abide to or you will lose the physician that is prescribing your medications.

Even if you are not getting medications from the other pain clinic, why would you need to go to another? For physical therapy,or some other therapeutic remedy that the first pain clinic does not have available? If that is the case, discuss this with your prescribing physician and always be upfront and honest with them. That is if you are not doing anything against his/her wishes. Then you would not want to tell them. Once your labeled an addict, abusing,etc.. you will never get another pain management physician to prescribe you any pain meds again.

I hope this helped. Also each state has different laws, and each physician has different rules, that is why I believe you should approach your physician that is prescribing the meds and ask him/her if it is acceptable with them.

God Bless,

Kendra

Not without violating the agreements you have to sign with each, no. And if you get controlled substance prescriptions from each place, the pharmacies you use will have to report them to the state, and there are systems in place that *should* catch you. Get caught playing around, and you may well find yourself unable to EVER get the pain meds you need for the rest of your life.

I've run into a couple of people who had substance abuse problems when they were much younger, who now have serious chronic pain issues due to illness or injury. They've been clean for years, but having those issues on their records means that no responsible doctor in the U.S. will ever risk prescribing anything strong for them again. You don't want to go there.

Caring for others like thyself.

You have signed a LEGAL contract with a Pain Management Specialist, #1.  IF you violate this Contract, you will never be able to obtain any type of therapy again.  ALSO, when you are in Pain Management, AS  TRULY NECESSARY AND THE ONLY OPTION, what would you propose you do when they request a random urine sample and YOU FAIL?

I WILL ADD THIS.  IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO QUAITY OF LIKE WITHOUT PAIN MANAGEMENT.  AND BE IT THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, MAKES IT EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO ADJUST TO THE EXTREMES THAT HAVE COME INTO THEIR LIVES.

GET HELP!  If you want no help and are so addicted, stand on the street corner and wait for a 'dealer' to supply your needs.  Perhaps you will get arrested, be put in prison, and there will be no help for you at all.

This type of behavior makes me angry.  I have been in Pain Management for over eight (8) years; never had a violation, never asked for an early refill, not misplaced my medication nor had a urine sample that was DIRTY.

You get no HIGH whatsoever in taking the prescribed medcations from a LICENSED PHYSICIAN who treats you.  You have some quaity of life and can at least bring happiness to others and yourself.

Thanks URI, ALEX'S MOM and TECHNOMOM for setting this guy straight!

And URI is correct.  You want death?  Then stand on the corner, get hit by an 18 wheeler as a pedestrain, and lie in the hospitals, nursing homes, have 9 surgeries.  Then you will know how VALUABLE Pain Management is to those who TRULY need same.

May God help you with your problems.
