Truck not responding to any repairs so far

trouble shooting for a ford 88 f350 with 460 motor that will not start. ..what can we do this truck has worked well until this year..Distributer cap new..acts like fuel not getting to fuel injection system, will start but need to feather the throttle to keepit going?

Yeah, so acts simply get fuel injection system. It's always been that way and it will very likely always stay that way, too

If you dont Know for Sure Always ask for help even if you have to Swallow your Pride

Hello,what i would sugget if you havnt done it is to run some  injector cleaner thru a few tanks of gas,and also check your fuel filter it may be getting colgged,and there are times where if you cat converter is going bad or filled up with dirt it could also act upthe last thing i would check is making sure your fuel pump has enough pressure if it dosent it's not puting enough gas to your injectors.Jim

Put a vacuum gauge on it and if it has less than 18 inches of vacuum you have a vacuum leak. Also check all electrical connections going to the injectors to be sure they are firing. It sounds like it has to be either an air or fuel mixture problem but check the vacuum first , if it is between 18 and 22 then you should be good.

If you have a vacuum leak spray WD40 around intake and hoses if the engine smooths out if you have found the leak. Hoses are bad to crack or get accidentally pulled off when doing things under the hood.
